About Me.
Hello, I’m Carsten Sommer—a design-driven project leader, UX specialist, and former co-founder with a career built on turning real user needs into practical solutions. For more than a decade, I’ve worked across industries, from protective gear and manufacturing to volunteer ecosystems, leading user-focused projects and creating frameworks that strengthen collaboration, clarity, and delivery.
My work blends behavioral insight, design management, and hands-on field research to ensure teams build solutions that truly fit human workflows. Today, my focus is on empowering organizations and volunteers through structured processes, better communication, and user-centred development.

I work purposefully with journey management and am passionate about creating solutions where the members’ needs are clear and guide all decisions. With a combination of design thinking and engineering expertise, I work curiously and analytically, and I use both qualitative and quantitative insights to create an overview and direction.
I thrive in agile environments, where holistic collaboration and interdisciplinary sparring are a natural part of everyday life, and where I can translate insights into clear frameworks, shared understanding and concrete improvements.
My volunteering in IDA and experience with complex processes make me proactive in the work of raising the quality of user journeys, strengthening the coherence across the board and ensuring solutions that are experienced as meaningful for both users and the organization.
